In English - brief

Østnorsk Filmsenter AS (“East Norwegian Film Center”) is one of seven regional agencies for supporting professional film makers in Norway. Our area covers the  county Innlandet in south east Norway. We have our office in Lillehammer. Our work includes:

- funding of short and documentary films as well as games
- offering training courses and workshops
- create meeting arenas and network among film workers
- support film related activities for children and youth and supporting young film talents

Østnorsk Filmsenter is owned by the county of Innlandet and three local municipalities. Our finances are provided by our owners and by the Norwegian Ministry of Culture Affairs. We have a yearly budget of approximately 8 million NOK (1 million euro). We work in close cooperation with Filminvest, who is responsible for funding feature films and TV series in the same region.

In our region we have a rapidly growing film industry, covering all parts of the production process. The quality and experience of the local companies are growing accordingly, and Fabelaktiv from Hamar won the first Norwegian Emmy award ever in 2013 in the category Kids: Non-Scripted Entertainment with “Energy Survival”. We also have the Norwegian national film school located in Lillehammer.

Special focus areas are films and TV-drama for a young audience, animation and documentaries and we are open for international coproduction.
